What energises you most about networks and/or your role as a Network Leader?

I find the space that networks create for open conversation, permission to grapple with complexity and willingness to explore possibilities really refreshing and reassuring- usually in hierarchies there is a need to get things right first time.....so the opportunity to experiment  and explore is energizing for me

Although not directly leading a Network - I really do find this area of work energising and inspiring - when we  facilitate development  and support sessions with groups of network leaders and discrete networks - we are really struck by the commitment of the members to their network aims  and ambitions and to find ways to work differently  and better together. Very rewarding to see the suite of diagnostics in use and the difference that they can make. Keep on Networking!

For me, its about the energy and the sharing of information and ideas. The opportunity to create change and work to support the incredible assets that exist outside the hierarchy

For me, its knowing I'm involved in something that matters and contributes to work that makes a difference. Its also the people and I’m fortunate to work with so many inspiring people. I am part of a community and have found a deep purpose and joy for the work I do. People say to me, do you like your job? and I reply…… I LOVE MY JOB!! ?

There are quite a few different energies in a group at any one time.
I need to be aware that my energy and the group's energy are not always the same.

In terms of my energy, this usually comes secondary to the group's energy and results from seeing the group;

  • Beginning to achieve its aims
  • Become more able to facilitate itself
  • Value the diversity in the group
  • Apply learning beyond the group
  • The group creating for itself safe spaces for the work to happen

... At least as an initial set of things that energise me!
